A few months ago, my stampers' club learned several techniques in one evening and made a set of tags. These can be added as a focal point on a larger card, or to dress up a gift package (the possibilities are really endless).
The first tag, "Happy Anniversary," uses the Baroque Motifs stamp set, stamped in Whisper White Craft Ink onto vellum cardstock. Then we dry-embossed the image from the back of the vellum. "Happy Anniversary" is from the Hugs & Wishes set, in Basic Black ink onto Old Olive cardstock. It is all mounted onto Sahara Sand cardstock and embellished with a little Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds (oh yes, and ribbons, of course).
The second tag, "Bee Mine," demonstrates how to be creative with paper piercing and embroidery floss to suggest honey combs. The bee is from the retired stamp set, In Full Bloom.
The third tag, monogram, is stamped with Sahara Sand ink onto the Sahara Sand tag, first with the swirl from the Season of joy, then with the Lovely Letters Alphabet. Next, using the Crafter's Tool Kit, we practiced paper piercing, both along two sides of the tag and freehand, following the stamped design. Elements from the Bella's Bloom stamp set were stamped in Pixie Pink and Certainly Celery, then cut out and applied with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Lastly, the flower from Doodle This was stamped in Sahara Sand for a background. The 5-Petal-Flower, Boho Blossoms and Trio-Flower punches were used to create the accents in Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery and Rose Red cardstocks. (The leaves were punched with the 5-petal-flower, then trimmed with scissors to make leaves). Again, we practiced our paper piercing for some dimension, and then embellished with silver brads for flower centers.
